Parks and Trails
Sherburne County and the City of Becker have a strong partnership in providing area residents with recreational activities year-round. One of Becker’s many parks is linked to Sherburne County’s Oak Savanna Park. The two parks combined have over 240 acres with over 12 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding. The Oak Savanna Park trails are also connected to the Legacy Trail, which is part of the Sherburne County History Center.
The Sherburne History Center collects and presents the history of Sherburne County. With award winning exhibits and a developing research facility, the story of the county; the past and the present is on display. Also, you can walk the half-mile native prairie Legacy Trail where you will discover a 1930s gas station, ox cart station, beautiful Clitty Lake and the Herbert M. Fox House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
